As I was wandering through Lamington National Park earlier this year these words formed inside my mind: Smile at the lizards Talk to the trees Swim beneath the waterfall Sing into the breeze ~ Look for the lessons that In nature are to be found Fill yourself with gratitude And let your feet kiss the ground I wrote them down, deeply resonating with the lessons that are to be found in nature. The patience that the trees teach us as we grow through all conditions. The uncontrollable flow of life as water tumbles off the cliff edges forming magnificent waterfalls, shaping the earth just as our experiences shape our mind. The communication between animal species and their relationship to the earth as they forage, explore and support their micro-community, they add quality and depth to the macro-community of planet earth.
More recently, I was reading Deepak Chopra’s Book of Secrets and it reminded me of that little poem I had crafted. His words were: Talk to the universe. Listen for its reply. Be on intimate terms with nature. See the life in everything. Carry yourself like a child of the universe. ~ Deepak Chopra These parallel lessons, inspired me to write of how to receive messages from your natural surrounds. Whenever you ask the universe a question or request its action, make it clear. Set your intentions positively and back them with your full hearted belief that whatever you are asking is possible. And then you wait. Wait patiently until a certain signal is presented to you. And when you see it, you will know. You will know when the universe responds to your requests, as it always does. Messages from the universe may present themselves organically as a part of nature, commonly the plants and animals whose paths you cross may be messages in disguise. Tune into plants, ask them for their messages, absorb their frequency by sitting next to them or hold them softly in open palms. Plants are potent communicators, their complex underground root systems allow messages to be spread long distances, communicating with their own species and other friendly neighbours. Plant species have been around long before humans evolved, and therefore they contain sacred information, centuries of wisdom and a powerful desire to heal. The colour, the texture, the number of petals, all hinting signs and signals along your path which may be providing an answer to your questions. Notice any vibrant flowers that catch your eye, or any hidden plant foliage you stumble upon. Flower essences have been used for many years to harness the energetic imprint of the flowers in the wild. These flower medicines work to unlock potential inside of you, as your chosen flower energetically weaves its magic into your being. The animals that scatter, take flight or jump around the forest may also be sending you subtle messages. If an unusual, playful or magnificent animal being crosses your path, look deep into the messages that they bring. The characteristics that the animal possesses is often the characteristics that are inside of you, that the universe wants to bring to the surface. Contemplate the meaning behind the crossing of paths with the species and listen to the little (or large) messages that begin to bubble up from within. Your intuition will guide you the rest of the way. When you begin to tune into this powerful force of nature, the synchronicities begin to roll into your life thick and fast. I often catch myself smiling at the flowers that bloom in my path and laughing at the animals that wander across my trail. As you begin to recognise these signs from the universe, you realise that whatever you ask, the universe is most definitely listening. In love, light and laughter, Chelsea x
